Yes, and ask them to check for asthma and check her heart. The asthma attack looks like a non-productive hairball cough. Sometimes heart problems show up as coughing as well. Not to scare you, but it's an urgent situation.

I was going to say the same as stephanietx stephanietx . If she's being doing that for months but not bringing up a hairball, it's probably not a hairball. That could be an asthma attack that you are seeing. This cat should definitely see a vet if for no other reason than to rule out more serious causes like asthma or heart problems.
