Bitty Has Gone To Meet Her First Best Friend, Jet

Itty Bitty Kitty was helped to the Bridge On Tuesday. She purred peacefully in my arms till she left on her new journey. Bitty would have been 19 this July.

Bitty was a feral we live trapped, a fighting handful of fury that seemed to overcome any fright she had. OUr intention was to spay her and find a home on farm; she could be a barn cat. But she fell in love with Jet, our previous Lab. Then she slowly transferred to me. I will never forget the first day she came up on my lap, of her own free will. Her little black face asking me if she could, would I mind, would I hurt her, was she safe.

Bitty kept her bond with Jet. If one of the other cats made friendly with Jet Bitty would go and whack the other cat. "My dog." Bitty would tell them. I'm surprised she let me pet my own dog.

Jet has been gone herself since 2007 . I hope Bitty doesn't go whack some cat Jet made friends with in the past 10 years, up in heaven.

Sorry for your losses, both of them. But what a cute story, they are together again at the Bridge, healthy and playing again, and to have her 19 years is really incredible!

What a wonderful memory you have of such a beautiful companion! 19 years is a wonderful, long life, 19 years of joy and happiness. My heart goes out to you for the emptiness this brings, no matter how many years we have with those little ones it is not enough. The bond you have formed is strong, just as the bond was with Itty Bitty and Jet. Use both of those bonds to bring you comfort, it is spiritual and will be with you forever. Both would never want you to be sad because of them, they would want you to go on into the future and find happiness once more, as you would want for them if you were the first to go. My thoughts and prayers will be with you, I'll pray for their tiny souls to find each other at the Rainbow Bridge and once again be joyous and at peace in each other's company.
