In September 2021, one of our 13 year old Bengal cats got an ear infection. The eardrum had ruptured so the vet said that you could then treat with antibiotics in pill form. The most effective form of treatment would probably be a gel of antibiotics directly in the ear, but this could not be done when the eardrum had ruptured, because then there is direct access into the head, and it was too risky with gel. After 2 months with pills there was no improvement. "last" chance was then treatment with gel directly, since we had everything to gain. We have been doing this daily for now 2 months, again without result. It has been anesthetized 3 times so that the vet could look and test the type of bacteria in question. Now we soon do not know what to do. The cat is fine, but we can not continue with this treatment much longer. Must greet and say that ear infection in a cat smells quite awful. Does anyone have experience or good advice. Regards from Denmark
