Back From Vacation

hello! So we took my cat to a sitter last Sunday via car about 5 minutes drive and then picked him up yesterday (6 days at the sitter) and brought him home via car in which he was crying the whole way both times.

He's been meowing quite more than usual. Could this be a sign he's just happy we are back?

Yes, I think he's both happy that you're back, and happy that's he's back home. He'll probably wander around the place, leaving his scent everywhere. Then eventually settle down for a nap.

I am sure it was very upsetting for him, animals think they are abandoned and get scared when taken to a strange place. It is normal for him to increase his meowing, he is trying to comfort himself that all is good and is anxious. Just give him extra attention for a few days and all will be well.
