I agree completely. We know in our hearts there are others out there, and we give comfort to those who post, but it is soothing to know that for that one moment in time there is no comfort needed!

As a moderator one of the worst things we have to do is close a thread after a cat has passed. There are some days that we have to do this multiple times. I really do appreciate when things are "quiet".

Why do you have to close a thread after a cat has passed?
We do out out of respect for the cat and owner. I can't begin to tell you how many times we have had members post on a thread where the cat has passed and not read all of the previous posts and suggest treatment options and in some cases suggest that the owner isn't doing enough. Losing a cat is tough enough without people questioning how you handled it. :(

It is ashamed people have to be like that. Posting that your cat has died has got to be one of the hardest things to do.
