I was talking to my oldest son last night and he told me that Nate ( my youngest ) is talking about moving to Portland when he is finished with the hike. I am being selfish when I say I hope he doesn’t. Through all the past couple of years struggling with my husbands health, Nate has been an emotional support for me. Of course everyone was focused on my husband, but Nate would ask me how I was doing and even took me out a few times to get me out of the house while Hubby was in the hospital.

I understand the not wanting him to move even if it’s selfish on some level. Its been decades since I had to move away from my family and I still miss having everyone close. Especially if your family is close enough to be the ones you call when you need someone.
