The stray I took in 3 years ago had 4 kittens. I kept mom and all 4 kittens! The males (she had 3) are huge cats now, but still my “kittens”, and mama kitty is extremely close with her only daughter. I’m so glad I kept the whole family!
I, too, allowed my daughter's cat to keep all but one of her babies. Wendy, the one adopted out, has a wonderful family of her own - she is shared by my friend and her adult daughter and has a "sibling dog-brother" as well as two other kitties and she rules the roost there. We kept the other 4 - all spayed, neutered housecats. They are very close to Mama Kelly whom I adopted about a year ago (I got her from a woman entering hospice and had no idea that she would be pregnant. Kelly's spay date kept being pushed back and she had kittens on the anniversary of my dad's passing so now a sad date has become a happy date. Sometimes things are meant to be even though it had been over 25 years since I had a tame cat have kittens).
