Is there any way to transition my wife's kitten from eating nothing but the formula to eating something more her age? We have tried the mixing trick with wet food and the formula and making it like a gruel, and we have tried adding just the juice with no meat to the formula to no success. We have tried the dry food soaked in water and frankly she tries to burry that with her poo.

She was an orphan that was brought to our home by someone that felt we would be a better alternative to a shelter, and since then she has put on over a Lb. in weight in 2 weeks. So we don't want to traumatize her by trying some kind of force feeding making her see the food as a bad thing. Anyhow does anyone have any ideas about how to get her off of this formula and onto something more nutrish for her?

Try offering Gerber meat baby food such as chicken or turkey. Weaning kittens usually love it. You can offer it on your finger for her to lick, or smear some on her gums. Kittens will usually lap it from a plate.

Gerber Stage 2 baby meats do not contain garlic or onion.
