Hi! Today I picked up my first ever bottle feeding kittens. I foster with my local shelter. They are about three weeks, and they need to be bottle fed for one more week. I've never done bottle babies before. Any advice or important things I need to know?

Did anyone at the shelter show you how to bottle feed?

That's great!

Do you know how much and how often to feed?

Since they are accustomed to the bottle, it should be fairly easy!

We'd love to see pictures of the kittens! :)

I'm having some problems. They were just found this morning so they aren't used to eating. I've been trying and they just won't accept the nipple. They said about 6 times a day, so I'm doing it everyone four hours.

Actually it's more so they aren't latching onto it.

They still have not eaten! They are so fussy. It's weird, they suckle for three seconds and then they just don't want it!

They are used to nursing from mom. Do you know what happened to their mom?

You can try a syringe instead of a bottle. You squirt a drop into the side of the mouth at a time until they learn to suckle.

Talking Peanut is correct. They want their mom. You need to use a syringe until they adapt.

How are things now?
