Hi all, this little failed to latch on to mum and I have been bottle feeding her from 75g now 218g so yay all good until... this Thursday she has been clawing and chewing on the bottle. Its not blocked, correct temperature etc.. read threw some posts on here and have nipped a hole in the teet to make it bigger and still no good. The last few feeds she's been only taking 5ml instead of 10ml. Not sure what else to do? Feeling very tired and frustrated now myself:( she is a cutie though. Still stays with mum and siblings inbetween feeds.

Is she still gaining weight? She might be nursing on mom and not want the bottle any more.

Agree, but she is likely teething and chewing feels good. Kittens begin to cut their baby teeth between 3 and 4 weeks and so they also begin to teeth on mom, which she doesn’t like either.

If she stops gaining weight, you might want to switch to a 5mL syringe (free at a pharmacy). She can’t bite or tear the nipple on a syringe. Also, most kittens will drink when they are really hungry, so don’t stress if she skips a feed or drinks less. Around 5-6 weeks they will be ready to learn to lap mushy soft pate from a flat plate.

Here’s a helpful video:

Thank you, definitely not feeding of mum she has lost the ability (or just lazy) typically she just sank 10ml still making a complete fuss about it mind you. So agree with you she will take more when hungry 😊
