Explosion in Philly, the city is in chaos...

The traffic in front of my building is dead locked in gridlocked....I work 8 blocks from this....but not in the "evacuation" zone....scary, it's so close....

Thanks Jan! My 10 minute 5 mile drive at rush hour would take an hour, I leave at 4 so I beat alot of it, and make it home by 4:30....but still. Thank God for a convertible and satelite radio!!! I just hope everyone is ok, the firefighters are trying to go into the manholes, they said you could hear the explosion for blocks..... and smell the smoke too. It's really close to me, within walking distance....

How scary! Glad you're OK, and I hope everyone else is OK too.

Wow, that had to be scary!

It is still odd to me, that I often listen to talk radio, and even watch the news almost daily. Yet so many times the FIRST I hear of an important news story is at TCS!

I work on 3rd and Chestnut in Old City...I must have made it out of the city yesterday before this all happened! I had no idea until I got home. Didn't it turn out to be a guy working on his home electric? crazy scary.

Now today a pizza place on 3rd & Market is on FIRE! Traffic is gridlocked all through this part of the city. This should be an interesting Friday drive home.
