i have a momma cat and two litters of her kittens. the older kittens are eight months old. the younger are about three and a half months old. oftentimes i will walk into a room they are in and the younger kittens are attempting to nurse from one of the females from the older litter. both of the babies try and though the older one has never lactated she lets them try. the babes were weaned when momma cat deemed it and didn't have a problem with it until about a week ago. does anyone know why they are now attempting to nurse and is there any way to prevent this from continuing?
