Unfortunately, there is no humane society in my area. Also, the vet station was already closed when this started happening, I tried calling them, but there was no answer. This is awful, the kitten is fading, I tried to feed him, but he´s so weak he can´t even move anymore. This is one of the saddest things that´s ever happened to me. Especially because I put so much effort to make this kitten stronger and help him survive..the whole proccess is excrutiating..
Now I feel I should have let him go days ago...not intervene with the nature and it´s proccess..
I did what I could, but there was just too little time left...like today, before this started happening, I ordered a special kitten bottle that should arrive tomorrow...
So, anyway, thank you for your support...I´ll post again if things change, although I doubt it..

Is it too late to tube feed the baby? I read about it somewhere and I can't remember where, but maybe the vet or a cat rescue can help you with it....

The poor kitty died while I was writing my previous post.
I was too devastated to write right away. I can´t imagine what that little one went through. I just hope I did help him somehow.
You know, it´s the funniest thing..how something so small, so vulnerable can sneak into your heart..well, I feel like I´ve had this little kitten for years, not days..
He will always be remembered..I hope now he´s in a beautiful place, where suffer does not exist.
So thank you all once again. You´ve all helped a lot with your advices and encouragements.
I´ll try to stay an active member of this forum and help wherever it´s needed.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss. In order to honor his little spirit..I would take his mom into the vet office and have her spayed. There is no reason for her to continue to breed and have kittens that don't survive.

Please have your cat spayed, or at least do not let her outside. Cats belong indoors, and at 16, she is WAY too old to be having kittens. Lord knows we have enough unwanted kittens in the world.

Billie...thank you so much...I know how much you are hurting and please do not get angry at yourself...you are now going to get your girl fixed, which will be an awesome gift for your girl. We would love for you to stay on this site..if anything to help us teach people that older cats can indeed become pregnant. When she is spayed, please come back and post so that we can all celebrate with you.

I really sympathise with you over the whole dilemma and of course the terrible fact of losing the kitten. I only recently moved here to France after ten years in Sarajevo, and I know very well that most people in the region do not normally spay or neuter their cats. It took me a long time before I could persuade a few friends that it was for the best. But maybe after your experience, you can use it for good to try and let people know what they should do. I got a vet on my side who agreed to do discount spaying and neutering for me and any people I sent to him. He was based at the University Veterinary school and was such a support. If you possibly can, try to find someone like that and start a campaign - most people just don't think, and then complain about the numbers of feral cats wandering the streets. Good luck, and don't feel bad - you did what you could.

Awe, I am soooo sorry for your loss.

I really understand how you feel. I took in a pregnant queen back in Febuary and she was older and had 2 kittens. They are in my signature. They had gotten Upper respitory infections and I even took mine to the vet and the vet told me if I just clean their nose and eyes, they'd be fine in a week. Well, they got weaker and didn't want to eat. I also tried to bottle feed but nothing worked. Yuki died during the night and the next morning I woke up and found her and I rushed both to the vet and it was too late for Hitomi, so I had to make the decision to put him to sleep.

I just hope out kitties are playing together happy over the bridge. *hugs*

I am sorry for the loss of that baby. It's always so sad to lose one be it a few hours, days, weeks, months or even years.

Great words of wisdom, Jenny. As Billie posted, this cat had been having and losing kittens for years. Because Billie took the time to get involved, the parents now understand the importance of spaying the Momcat.

Spread the word. Let the neighbors know that spaying and neutering is very important, even for outside or barn cats!

Condolences on the loss of the precious baby!
