Since my dog was put down my cats are very subdued and unsettled...Indie, who is closer to my daughter and husband is hanging around me a hell of alot! mewing alot at me and just wanting to be with me, that in itself is odd!
Minx who is the hyper bunny just cannot seem to be bothered with much, and again seems unsettled. They are both eating ok, but you know when you can tell everything isn't right?

They were 2 weeks old when we got them, the dog mothered them, she let them suckle, though on her belly, she let them anyway, they used to curl up against her warm belly, and she groomed and nudged them while they were sleeping. As they got older they didn't curl up to her as much, but would still lay with her, and reverse roles as in they would groom the dog.

Indie also used to like trying to play with the dog, when she used to climb the stairs Indie would always run past her and block her way and paw her, she was too old to bother playing but he always tried!

I love them immensley and are giving them even more love n hugs, kisses even telling them she's gone to be an angel(ok that sounds a bit mad!) but I just don't know how to console them and they must be feeling grief that she's suddenly gone from their lives.

Any ideas on how to comfort them?

My cats are going through a similar thing because they lost there big sis Bella, I have been using Bach flower essence, I rub it on their ears, it is helping for sure. They were very uneasy, just unsettled and the one is trying to tell who the boss is, it is going to take a while to adjust but eventually they all will. Things have calmed down here a bit. They just feel the loss too, and see me upset all the time. I hope some of this helps!

I've used Rescue Remedy, it does seem to help in these situations.

Thank you bella for replying...Ok now to sound really dumb but what is Bach flower essence? and do I get it from a health food store? or is it from a pet store...I have no clue what it is so pardon my ignorance.
And sorry you are goign through similar, I guess that's half the problem that they are also feeling vibes from me which is likely upsetting them too.

Ashleigh, yes you get them at a health food store!

Hi Ashleigh, only just seen this thread. Holland & Barratt and Boots both sell Rescue Remedy, so you should be able to get some fairly easily.
