Hello All,

I am looking to change my cat's diet. My main goal is to stop my cat from shedding so much; I assume the product of a poor diet.

1. Are the basic brands any good; 9 lives, etc?
2. Is IAMS a good brand?
3. Are there better brands on the market that aren't too expensive?

Thank you.

I also found that Nutro Natural Choice for Indoor Cats reduced shedding.

1. No. They're really, really low quality, although Meow Mix wet (in the packets) is decently good.

2. No. It has lots of fillers and meat byproducts.

3. Yes! Go to a petstore and see what you can find. Nutro (Max Cat and Nutro Natural) and Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul are both good foods that are very inexpensive.

Also, if you can try feeding some canned food every day. It's much more healthy than dry.
