I really do not think cats appreciate being dressed up; this is done only for people. I do not even put a collar on my cat as he never goes out. Just me, but I prefer cats au natural.

in a pile of open toed shoes!
well, I found this adorable zebra print tee for a small dog, and had to get it for LuckyGirl, cause she's black & white, and my whole living room/dining room is done in animal prints. And the tee said "zebra in training"...it was cute. Putting it on her was fine, but she would not walk with it on. She kinda did this crawl thing where she walked close to the ground, but wouldn't stand up straight. So I just took it off her....why torture her for the sake of fashion?!

same here. Dogs are fine with it, but cats hate it. my dogs are fine with it, not that I dress them up. I put bandanas on them and sunglasses and bandanas sometimes. it's just my cats don't put it up with it.

I have to agree with this, too. Why dont you come up with your own unique line for dogs ?

Most cats don't prefer to be dressed up. I think they find it offensive!
(what I'm not pretty enough the way that I am??)

Maybe you could come up with something totally unique that would be fashionable but not as restrictive to the cats as most clothing is. It would take a lot of creative thinking, but if you could come up with something cat approved, that owners thought was too cute, you might be able to make it fly. Just my 2 cents.

There are lines of hats for cats, and some clothing I think (not paid a lot of attention as I have no intention of buying or selling any such items!). You'll find more re boutique items for cats in the area of fancy beds, collars and leads. Do some web research on the various dog and cat boutiques to see what is already out there, and then see if you can come up with something distinct and new.

There are some active yahoogroups groups for those who do design pet products or are in pet products retail. If you get up and going, let me know and I'll give you the urls for requesting membership.

Good luck - it is fun coming up with creations for our kitties

I dunno, I think I'd lose a lot of skin trying to put anything on my kits!

I have seen people with Sphinx cats who put sweaters on them. I'm guessing it's to keep them warm because they have no hair. I would actually love to dress Maggie in a cute pink outfit, but I know she would not be a happy girl. She won't even walk in the harness I have to take them outside. That's a thought how about stylish kitty collars, leashes & harnesses? The harness I have is actually an X-small dog harness & I feel is much more safe than the figure eight cat harnesses.
