However, I do understand what you're saying -- I haven't had to make a choice about longhaired or shorthaired, but in terms of care, I know what it would be -- unless whoever adopts us next is a longhair, I guess.

He is, especially after a good brushing - and he does like being groomed which helps (unlike Scully when we first got him who would bite at the sight of a brush or comb) - he has this awful habit of getting bits of his mane wet and matted - I swear he does it to make me brush him!

Yep, until its time to drag him back out of it - he is quite happy to sit and play in the tub but doesn't like being taken out of that nice warm water
