Hi everyone...

I'm fostering a male cat that is about a year old. He was neutered this past week however his testicals are still in tact. The vet's office said that this was normal because his "sack" has fallen (not really sure I fully understand this but I will go by what they said) given the age he was neutered at.

My concern is that I've noticed he's gotten "excited" and fluid has secreted. The fluid is clear so I'm not sure what this is and if I should be concerned. I thought that once the cat was neutered that this couldn't happen anymore

My other male cats don't do this. Does anyone know why? Thanks for your help.

to TCS. I assume you mean that the cat's scrotum ("sack") is still intact, and just the testicles were removed. That seems to be the "norm" nowadays, at least in my area.
It can take a few weeks for a male cat's hormone levels to drop, so "male" behavior such as becoming excited or marking isn't at all unusual immediately after neutering.

Ya it will take a good month or so for his hormones to go away. He may also still spray and most importantly, he can still get females pregnant for a month. So keep him away from intact females and keep him indoors.
