i am looking for some thoughts on cat foods. I have one cat that has Struvite cystals so he is currently eating CD, however my other cat is a Siamese and he is eating Royal Canin Siamese food. Now the vet informed me that the Struvite cat should not eat anything but his food less he start developing crystals again and that the Siamese should never eat the other cats food as his breed is prone to Chronic Renal Failure. So I am having to feed them only at specific times of the day and I have to stand watch over their eating because if i turn my back they are trying to get in the others food bowl. Any thoughts as to what i can do? Is there a high premium cat food that will be good for them both? I am getting wore out trying to please them both and get them both healthy. Thanks

Unfortunately if your cats are prone to certain things and this food is made for those problems you really should keep them on that and not try any other foods.

Easy way to avoid them eating each other's food - put them in separate rooms with the door closed till they eat their foods. Nothing wrong with giving them a certain amount twice a day and not free feeding.

I used to do that all the time - set times. But now I only have 2 cats and they kinda free feed - are fed twice a day but if food is still in the bowl, they won't get more. Worked out good so far.
