Hi everyone,
i'm so glad I found this forum!
Today I became the proud owner of a beautiful kitten. It was purely by chance although I have been wanting a kitten for some time now. A lady collared me on the way home from collecting my children from school and asked if I wanted a kitten! she said that she had taken it off her friend who was threatening to kill it!!! However the lady who gave me the kitten said she was unable to take care of it herself as she already has one cat and no room for another.
Of course I graciously accepted as she is the most beautiful kitten i've ever seen!

She is black(long haired) with little white paws and a white nose/mouth. She's actually very similar to the cat off the felix adverts. I'm still thinking of a name for her and She's 10 weeks old and wasn't litter trained until just a few moments ago.. I was actually going to ask for advice with litter training her but she's done it all by herself with a bit of encouragement from my children.

It's lovely to meet you and I look forward to chatting with you all

Awwww thanks everyone, That's very nice of you all.
My kitty is fast asleep on the sofa now at last! She's been hot footing it around the living room for the last hour and I think she's worn herself out!
I'm still racking my brains thinking of a name for her. I've a few names in mind but just can't settle on one.
So far I've managed to come up with... HARRIET....POPPY....FLISS...JESS and PIPPA.
Jess kinda suits her because she looks like jess off postman pat.. hahaha but then poppy suits her too..

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Thanks Pami and hi

my friend took a load of pics today and I'm waiting for her to upload them to her pc so she can send them to me..As soon as I have hold of them I'll be sure to post some up

I should really be getting myself off to bed now as I have an early start but i just can't bear to part with her...She's just so cute and entertaining. I hope she'll be ok tonight and not get into too much mischief..
Well night all and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow...hopefully with some pics.

Thanks CoolCat!

Well unfortunately my friend still hasn't managed to upload the pics of my new kitty yet, but i have picked a name for her at last. I've named her Poppy, and it suits her down to a tee!
She had a good first night anyway, It took me ages to settle off to sleep last night as I was listening out for her in case she started crying. As it happens she settled down wonderfully, so I needn't have worried at all

Hia

I'll be sure to post up some pics as soon as I can. I think she's found her favourite delicacy too. Last night she must have killed about 6 unfortunate daddy longlegs! At one point I looked round and she had a couple of legs hanging out of her mouth

According to my book on naming kittens, you should remember the following three things:
1. He needs a short name
2. Use the same name every time you call him
3. Make sure something pleasant happens whenever you call him

Dear Minnie:

SO GLAD you have rescued her; can you report the sociopathic monster to the authorities??? Guess intention is not punishable; if it were up to me, though, that person would be fertilizer! (VERY ANGRY!)

So what is your little angel's name? She sounds a lot like my Rani in appearance. "My" 9 range in age from 16+ (Nicolas T. Cat) to 2 years (baby Suha) and they are truly the lights of my life...

Good to meet you and yes, this is a great site/forum!
