Oh I SO feel for you. We almost lost Elsa last year due to intestinal blockage. She's got a lot less intestine now! I really hope he's ok, that's a very scary thing. Let us know how poor Pippen is!

Pippin is still in the hospital as of this morning and has still not pooped.

They are going to try another enema and see if that works. I'm so worried about him! It's now been 3 days since his last bowel movement. Fortunately, my ex and I are on wonderful terms and he is willing to help foot the bill. He's a good furdaddy.

With Pippin out of the house, Sparkle has been doing better too. She and Pippin and Simple don't get along, but Morris gets along with everyone, so now she only has one kitty to avoid in the house. Hopefully, she and Simple can come to a truce in the next couple of days that will make the home happier when Pippin returns. Just trying to look on the bright side of a bad situation.
I'm praying that the enema this morning will be the "Third Time's a Charm" for poor Pippin and he can get some relief.
I will post more when I get an update from the vet!

I hope Pippin gets better soon!

I also have a little furbaby called Pippin and he's pitch black! I love him to bits! We've just moved from where he could go outdoors to a flat where he cannot get access outside and he's taking it pretty well! He's alittle moody and grumpy but it's only a week into quarentine so cross fingers that he'll get used to it!

Pippin is a great name isn't it?

I hope he starts enjoying his indoor time more. I wish my kitties could be indoor/outdoor in a safe environment, but no luck!

Pippin finally passed a little bit of stool today after yet another enema. Poor guy, his bum must hurt!!
The doc is keeping him overnight, and thus, the whole weekend because I'll be unable to pick him up until Monday.

At least he'll be in good hands and hopefully fully recovered when I get him. I miss my little cuddlebug!!!

Well Done Pippin! I'm sure he felt more relief than pain afterward!

My Pippin
is doing better, seems like his "normal" self today! Was up at 4, meowing for breakfast, playing with Daddy and Mommy's feet and causing general havoc in his wake! I went out today and bought him a "H" harness so that we can start walkies at some point next week! Not sure if I'm brave enough to take him outside again after he's finally settled down into being indoors... won't he want to "escape" to the great outdoors and pine to go out again? Agggg... this is a question to pose on another part of the forum anyway! I should actually go and introduce myself to everyone so off I go!

I hope Pippin makes more progress over the weekend and keep us posted on his return to home on monday!

Pippin is back home as of this morning and I have been able to hang out with him all day. He seems to be back to his old self for the most part. I haven't noticed him pooping, but he didn't eat a lot at the vet.
He's not acting weird at all though, so I've got my fingers crossed that we'll be back to normal soon.
I picked up some hairball stuff at the grocery store today. It's the hartz hairball remedy, so I'm going to start giving it to Pippin to help him with his constipation. hehe

Yay Pippin!!!! So glad to hear he's feeling better, and happy to hear he's finally pooping, even if only a little bit...I see you said you got a hairball remedy...did you ask the vet about a laxitive? It might have better results, but I'm not sure, just a thought!

Pippin just threw up a gigantic hairball so hopefully this means his innards are cleaned out. He's acting perfectly normal and is enjoying having the windows open today.

I'll be keeping an eye on him though, to make sure he keeps eating and pooping normally.
I think it's funny that the day after I gave him some hairball remedy that this thing came up. Seriously, it was about 3" long!!!! Gross!!

Well Pippin had a decent run for 10 days, but now he's back to having problems pooping. He's crying a lot and running from litterbox to litterbox. He's having no problem peeing, so I'm assuming he's constipated again.
The vet told me to give him dulcolax 5mg last week and I gave him two doses. Once on Monday night, once on Tuesday night and he's had a decent week. Is this something that's safe to give him everyday? I know some cats just get constipated and I'm wondering what people give their chronic constipation kitties to help with this.
I gave him another pill this morning since he's so agitated, and also gave him a dose of hairball remedy (which he despises!!!) so hopefully by this evening he'll feel better.
I'm going to call the vet to see what they recommend, but I'd love tips from other members about what they do.

So I'm taking Pippin into the vet tomorrow morning to get checked out. I'm hoping to get some advice also about his diet and what, if anything, I can give him daily to prevent this from happening.
I hope his innards start working properly, I really can't afford these constant vet trips.

I'm so sorry to hear that Pippin isn't well. And I hope you can find a reasonably priced treatment. After Lucy's operation, I know how quickly the vet costs can add up.

Good Luck.
