I am buying a digital camera on Thursday. I was just wondering if anyone has or knows anybody with this one. It is the cheapest one that I could find that seems fairly good. I wanted to get it in blue, but they don't have any here, so I have to get silver. There will be lots of kitty pictures coming soon from me.

No, I haven't gotten to. I only had like 2 seconds to look at it earlier and then the guy said that he'd put it on hold for me. I am going back to the mall now though so I am going to go back and look at it more. The reviews for it all seem pretty good. I did want one that took videos too but they are more expensive and I can't afford to spend more than like $250, and this one is $199+tax, so like $228.

Go into another store where they have the cameras out (I know both best buy and futureshop do here) and play around with it and see if you like it.

If you are looking in that price range I do know 2 people who have this one and while it has less optical zoom (and you never can use the full amount at a decent picture anyway) it is 5.1MP CCD which will help with bigger clearer pictures

Can I come with you??
My favourite type of shopping! You can never go wrong with the Canon Powershot line (as you can tell from all the reviews). The camera I had last year was from that line.

It all depends on what you are looking for in a camera, what options you want, when/if you will upgrade in the future etc. But you really should try it out in person - does it fit well in your hand, are the buttons accessible or too small, how heavy/light is the camera etc.)

Just the opinion of a guy that takes a LOT of pictures.....PLEASE......check out this link before buying a Kodak. My daughter has a real nice Kodak camera and I don't have anything against the quality of the pictures.....BUT....the battery life isn't very good. The way to get good battery life is to get a camera with a Lithium Ion battery that comes with the camera. We have ordered three cameras this year from this dealer online and have been very happy with their service as well as their prices. This is the best one in the price range that you are wanting to pay.....but a little hint.....DON'T opt for any of the EXTRA deals that they will offer you when you order....just tell them....NO THANKS. Also another thing with this brand of camera.....when you have to buy a larger memory card it is the CHEAPEST one to purchase. We purchased my daughter and my Dad this exact model and they are VERY pleased with it....as I said....this is just my opinion but I do spend a lot of time looking and researching different models and makes of cameras. With shipping and all.....you should still be very close to the maximum amount that you want to spend.

The one I am buying is a canon, not a kodak. I currently have a canon camera (just a regular film camera) and I love it. That panasonic one looks nice, but it is way too expensive. $237 american plus tax and shipping is way more than I can afford. If it doesn't come with a lithium ion battery, I will just buy one. You can get 2 extra sets plus a charger for like $30. Its what I used to have for my old digital camera, but I gave them to my sister when I gave her my old camera.

I went back to the store to play around with it...well actually I went to Zellers where they are out and it seems nice. My boyfriend wants me to get the one that icklemiss21 suggested, but I don't like the shape of it. I don't plan on printing too many pictures, especially not very big.

Thanks for all the help.

I have a Canon 350D which is excellent.

My sister bought the Sureshot a few weeks ago and is very happy with it.
