An electric cookie press? Wow, I haven't seen those. I got a manual cookie press (I've been dying for one) as a shower gift and thought I was so cool, hehe. My only tip is to be patient b/c not all cookies will come out perfect....using just the right amount of flour is crucial! Happy baking!

I really can't wait to use it, but I have to get to the grocery store to get ingredients, so it will have to wait until at least Friday.

I didn't even realize that it was electric until I took the instructions out of the box! LOL I have just been wanting a cookie press so I was pretty excited to find one at such a good price.
It's got a little thumb button that presses the dough out so you have more control over the cookies. It says it will press out like 30 cookies/minute!
Christmas cookies could be a breeze!!

Hey Kim - I think I know who we will be visiting this Christmas season. But do you think 30 cookies/minute is enough?

I have the recipes that came with the press, and those do look pretty good too.
If nothing else, I'll start with those and then start experimenting.

So I think I've decided on making "Chocolate Kisses" as my first cookie press cookie. Earl is a chocolate freak, and this recipe looks really good - it's made with melted chocolate chips instead of cocoa.
I have no idea how many cookies this recipe makes - could be a couple dozen, could be hundreds.
Jana & Kim, I'll let you know if I need to get rid of some cookies.

Mmmm. That's especially good, since chocolate chips are DARK chocolate. Yum!

LOL, Heidi! I can't say that I've ever seen an electric cookie press. I make Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies, and oatmeal cookies, every Christmas, and have never used the cookie press my s-i-l gave me 10 - 15 years (okay, maybe 17-18 years) ago! My m-i-l loves to bake, so I usually just add chocolate chip cookies to her "provisions".

Well, I made my first batch of cookies with my press.
Well...they taste good...

Basically, the recipes in the book don't take altitude into account, so there wasn't nearly enough liquid and the dough was too thick. So instead of looking like flowers they look like crowns with pointy things. LOL Ah, well, that's why you make a practice batch.
I loved working with the press, though! I can see where a manual one would be a pain, but the electric one is fab!!!

Isn't adjusting for altitude fun? Maybe that is why we are such adventurous spirits here. Good luck on the next batch.

For baking I do.
Especially with a new gadget that says that you have to get the consistency just right. Of course, the consistency was wrong going by their recipe, but at least I know that now, so I can get it right for Christmas Cookies.

Did you take any pictures of your first batch, Heidi?
Um, no.
They really are ugly...
But they do taste good! I'll take pics of the next batch when I get it right.
