stupid cat sound

Ok, when I clap at my cat when its doing something bad like chewing on cables etc, it lets out this very low mumbling meow that sounds strained. whats up with that? I hope its not mad. Im just trying my best to train him.

lol.. sounds like the noise Saki makes when I tell him not to do something. For him its like he's 'whining' because he knows he's doing something wrong.

I think it's a mini growl. In human terms it's like when people swear to themselves if things don't go their way.

My mother would always tell me there is no such thing as a stupid cat sound. Then when our cat would make an unusual sound she would laugh. My teacher would always tell me there is no such thing as a stupid question and then when somebody would ask a stupid question, she would laugh. When Persi makes a "stupid" cat sound, I just laugh and tell him how much I love him. I don't think anything about it unless it is a sound of distress.

well I meant the word "stupid" loosely. I called it stupid because he does it like SICYCAT said...like a whine. It is funny though how quick my cat does it. lol...animals..gotta love em

My Lucy has the adolencent whine down pat. When I tell her no, I get MEoww. Reminds me of an teenager going MOomm.

Chessy gives little mini growls when he doesn't get his way. It's actually kind of cute.
