Flea problem

Ok guys i need some help my cat has gotten fleas, she's NEVER had them in untill we put in a kitty door so she can go to the litter box in the garage.. Anyways, I need some help as to how to get rid of them. They are in our house now they aren't really bad, but we will find one of two every now and then, but they gross me out. So please give me some advice I heard Hartz isn't good to use on your animals, so what else is there?

The ONLY thing you should do is to go to the vet and buy Advantage, Frontline, or Revolution. Never ever buy any sort of over the counter products, no flea collars, no flea sprays, only go to the vet for meds.

but what about our house, if we get them off the her will they just die out in our house?
