The strangest thing just happened. I saw Isabelle my 2 yr old cat walk up to Fez my 1 1/2 yr old cat, when she approached him she gently layed him on his side by gently biting at his neck. Fez calmly layed down. Then she started biting his neck, apparently trying to get his scruff, she got it and dragged him a couple inches down the floor. Fez was calm and totally relaxed the whole time. I called out Isabelles name and she let go and started grooming him. It reminded me of when I had Momma cat with her babies, it seemed very motherly. But Ive never seen this happen before and I have had them both over a year. Isabelle was fixed when I got her and so was Fez.

What does it mean?

yes, it is a top-cat thing, to show who is in charge. He apparently recognizes her as the cat number 1.

It dont always is quite so gentle.
