Hi! This is my first post here. I am worried about Kitty. She is two years old. Yesterday I noticed that her fur looked like it was thinning on her back legs. Today when I came home from work there was a lot more missing on them. I have been reading about this online, but there are so many different possibilities. I have made her an appointment with a vet on Friday.

I read online that it may be stress, which we did just make a big move across two states 6 weeks ago. She seemed to be fine with that. She made the move easier than I thought.

I also read online it may be a change in foods. I have recently started giving her cat milk made by Whiskas because I heard that regular milk is bad for cats. Maybe I have given her too much??

I also read that she may be overgrooming herself due to stress. She does clean herself alot. Before we moved my husband was always home because he has an internet business. Now that we have moved we both are gone all day. So she went from always having someone around to being alone most of the day. And now that I think about it, I do not see her grooming herself as much when I am at home. So maybe all she does when she is alone is groom herself...and maybe that is why she has fur missing???

Ahh!!! I am so worried!!! She is my baby. I don't know if I can wait until Friday to see the vet!

If it really bad, call the vet back and see if you can get an earlier appt. or try another vet. It could very well be due to the stress of the recent move, but a good evaluation is best. Good luck, please post after the vet visit!
