I have a friend who lives in the Austin area.
She is a doggie person but works for a doctor who feeds a feral colony near their office
I sent her a link to this thread, along with the link to the Summer field Suites.
I pray that the declawed kitty finds a loving, safe home soon.

Thank you for caring.

Well, we have someone who WANTS the cat, can we get the cat TO him?

Sounds promising - I have lurked here so long, and seen how great the TCS people are... lets all send prayers and vibes for Grey cat's rescue AND reuniting him with MikeAnderson... If Mike wants him...
(sometimes that is how you get the best cats in the world, they
tug at you and you have to go back and get them... I did that
in college...and the cat became beloved at home!!)

How about it all? VIBES and PRAYERS going out for the Grey cat and all the others there...

to all the TCS people working on this!!

I LOVE to see the TCS BOARD MAGIC miracles happen
And we've had some really amazing ones, here in the past couple of years

So, I'm adding {{{{PRAYERS AND VIBES}}}} that the gray cat finds his way home, esp. to Mike.
Anyone else want to add to the magic - let's see something wonderful happen for a change

Having experienced some of those TCS miracles firsthand, I'm sending lots of prayers that it can happen for this sweet kitty too!

Can xoxo (sp, lol!) 's friend get in touch w/ the Austin group that
catsknowme and Gayef (I think its you guys) reached?

That way, there's a person on the ground to go investigate and locate the
Grey cat, PLUS see what else may need doing?

And, then we can locate and figure out how to get Grey to Mike in CA (I think you said CA??).

I'm still sending lots of vibes for this situation! It would be so uplifting to see him rescued and safe after being dumped and/or abandoned... AND declawed.

My friend posted information about these kitties and the declawed sweetie, on a couple of bulletin boards.
Unfortunately she lives an hour from Austin but if someone will post the name of the Austin no-kill rescue group's name & phone # (you can PM me if you prefer) I will see that she gets it.
Maybe someone will look into helping all of these kitties.

I just spoke with Missy McCullough (sp??) at the Austin Animal Trustees rescue. She is going to contact a couple of her people there to go over and see if they can 1) find the cat, 2) get the cat, 3) bring the cat in for vetting, and 4) try to contact Mike (I gave her the phone number you left in this post, Mike - hope that was OK).

I sincerely hope this will all have a lovely, happy ending. Mike, can you please let us know how it goes? I will be keeping you and this little guy very close to my heart and in my thoughts today ...

That is wonderful news Gaye.
My friend left a message with them today also.

My fingers are crossed that they find the kitty.

Hey!

I've been out of town for a couple days, but I got a call this morning from one of the posters above about the efforts here.

So YES! If you guys can find the little grey declawed kitty, I'd love to take him! I'll be glad to pay for his airfare and any other costs that may arise.

The persons making this effort should feel free to contact me at mikeand1 at comcast.net or 267-241-2241.

I'm in the Oakland CA area.

*very big grin* That's great news, Mike!! I am so happy you are willing to make those arrangements for this little guy. I will pass that all along to Missy in Austin for you, but I am relatively certain she will probably be calling you directly with whatever news she can find. I sincerely hope this all works out for you. If you need me, let me know how I can help.

BTW, here's more details on the cat, in the hopes that he can be found:

As I mentioned, he's very friendly, so you shouldn't have much trouble getting him to come to you if you can track him down. Try opening a can of tuna, he loved it!

He had the most beautiful smoky grey coat. Not a shorthair, but not super long either. He had kind of a fluffy tail. And as I mentioned, a tabby face.

He was a bit of a lanky type, very skinny with oversized back legs that reminded me of a jackrabbit.

He also had kind of a funny meow, and he was very vocal. He was obviously a very intelligent cat, judging from how vocal he was, and he had a strong inclination to use his front paws to reach for things. And he had an erie sense for what was going on at all times.

And of course he was declawed, unfortunately.

Keep me posted! I'd sure love to be reunited with him.

You people are amazing. Don't forget to let all of us following this thread, know how it went. And Mike - if you are reunited - we want pictures.
I so hope this goes well.

Have there been any updates on this thread? I'm currently in Dallas, but went to college (and love) Austin. I can possibly have some college friends check out the area if it's still needed. I also volunteered at the Austin Humane Society for 4 years. They are a no-kill shelter and I would be willing to give them a call.
