YES!!!!
She is a GREAT actress!! I have yet to see one of her movies that I didn't like.

Another one is A Walk To Remember. I cried and cried!!! Very touching love story.

(I am a HUGE fan of horror movies,so I don't watch too many funny movies)

I think "Meet the parents" and "Meet the Fockers" are both hilarious!
if you need a good laugh, watch those! (both of them are with Adam Sandler..I love him!
) "Anger Management" with Adam Sandler is pretty funny, too.
I also think "Garfield : The Movie" is really cute.

If you are interested in watching Asian films, you should watch any movie directed by Wong Kar Wai, particularly movies Days of Being Wild, Chungking Express, In the Mood for Love, and 2046. I would also recommend My Wife Is a Gangster, it is a an intelligent comedy I am sure you'll love, and So Close, and Motorcycle Diaries.

Try Memoirs of a Geisha, I just fell in love with Zhang Ziyi.
And until now, I still watch Some Like it Hot by Marilyn Monroe

Almost Famous is one of my favorite, Sometime In April, an HBO original movie, if you can get a copy of it, it's beautiful. I love Felicity Huffman in TransAmerica, and if you don't mind sexually explicit scenes, French Movies Sex is Comedy and The Pornographer by Catherine Breillat is stunning.

I am not a horror fan, but I appreciate The 6th Sense, The Others, and the Japanese original series of The Ring.

Of course, I love Garfield the movie, Finding Nemo, and Shrek I and II.

Adam Sandler isn't in Meet The Parents or Meet The Fockers.. you're thinking of Ben Stiller

Lost in Translation-someone mentioned that movie and it is absolutely gorgeous, just beautifully d one, and it makes you think. i highly recommend it. the end made me cry, but in a good way.

Almost Famous - i agree - see this movie!! There's mild drug use in it but really nothing too terribly shocking, and it's just a great movie - hilarious and touching too.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest - pretty heavy, but if you're in the mood for that kind of film, it's great. It's a classic and a must-see.

i agree, Saving Private Ryan...tho it's pretty intense, is a great movie.

Romeo Must Die - i love that movie! It sort of verges on being a B-movie, but it's like, campy in a way, and Aaliyah (may she RIP)gives a really good performance - hard to believe that was her first movie role! It's really funny.

There's always the John Hughes classics - 16 Candles, Pretty In Pink, Breakfast Club, if you haven't seen them yet. Great, great movies. They don't make teen movies like those anymore

If gay themes don't bother you, Brokeback Mountain is a beautiful movie. Sad, tho :/

Definitely recommend Brokeback Mountain and Lost in Translation. Delighted to see The Red Violin recommended -- I wasn't sure what exposure it was likely to get, but it's a wonderful film.

What Dreams May come: I haven't seen the film, but I have read the book, and would love to see the film -- glad to see it recommended.

So, now, what would I recommend other than these?

In no particular order, just as I see them on the shelf -- and they wouldn't be there if they didn't have a place in my forever file...

Rainman (Dustin Hoffman -- stunning, as an autistic man; Tom Cruise as his brother -- amazing acting, poignant story)
Starman (Jeff Bridges as an alien in need of transportation -- lots of laughs and tears)
Pretty Woman (I think that was already mentioned)
Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks -- innocence, unwitting wisdom)
Being There (Peter Sellers, Shirley MacLean -- like FG but different)
ET (sweet, fun, touching)
Driving Miss Daisy (Jessica Tandy, Morgan Freeman, Dan Ackroyd -- an amazing, touching relationship)
Finding Forrester (Sean Connery as a crusty old SOB English prof -- stunning)
Dead Poets' Society (Robin Williams, not being funny -- very thoughtful)
Tootsie (Dustin Hoffman, and lots of other very fun people -- lotsa fun)
Victor Victoria (Julie Andrews, James Garner, Robert Preston -- very funny, but not without depth)
Sixth Sense (also previously mentioned -- horror, I guess, but not horrifying)
Grace Quigley (if you check IMDB, there are some totally scathing comments, but then you get to the ones that resonate with me -- Hepburn and Nolte really are superb in this quite dark comedy)

Those are pretty much off the top of my head. Maybe I'll think of more.

I don't think there's either the time or the space for me to list all the movies I love and think others should see, but here are a few (some already mentioned, some not):

Almost Famous This is my favourite movie, ever.
Elizabeth, with Cate Blanchett, Joseph Fiennes and Geoffrey Rush -- historically inaccurate (a lot of the events are compressed into a much shorter period of time), but still a good movie.
Shaun of the Dead It's not a horror movie. It's not a comedy. It's not a romance. It's a horror/romance/comedy -- and it works.
Interview with the Vampire I admit I had my doubts about Tom Cruise as Lestat, but he pulls it off.
Serenity and the TV series, Firefly You don't have to have seen the series first to get the movie, but it can't hurt. Definitely watch the outtakes.

Munich Not a happy movie, but it really made me think.
Army of Darkness Because everybody needs to see this at least once.
Aladdin, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid There hasn't been a single bad day in my life that watching one of these three movies couldn't make better. And I don't even like Disney.
Strange Days with Ralph Fiennes and Angela Bassett. A little dated now (it was filmed in 1995 but took place on December 31, 1999, so some of the "what-if?" is a bit far-fetched) but otherwise a very good movie.
Sin City You'll either love it or hate it. There are no "good guys," only people who are "slightly less bad than the really awful bad guys."

Happy viewing!

2 of my favorites. Kindom of Heaven is my Favorite!

Kingdom of Heaven- With Orlando Bloom and Jeremy Irons: During the Crusades--the world shaping 200-year collision between Europe and the East--a blacksmith named Balian has lost his family and nearly his faith. The religious wars raging in the far-off Holy Land seem remote to him, yet he is pulled into that immense drama. Amid the pageantry and intrigues of medieval Jerusalem he falls in love, grows into a leader, and ultimately uses all his courage.

Serenity: Based on the Sci-fi series "Firefly" Captain Malcolm Reynolds, a hardened veteran (on the losing side) of a galactic civil war, who now ekes out a living pulling off small crimes and transport-for-hire aboard his ship, Serenity. He leads a small, eclectic crew who are the closest thing he has left to family--squabbling, insubordinate and undyingly loyal. When Mal takes on two new passengers--a young doctor and his unstable, telepathic sister--he gets much more than he bargained for.

I recommend About a Boy I love that movie and most people I've recommended it to have liked it as well.

My husband and I are HUGE Chris Guest fans and love, love, love his movies. They don't appeal to everyone though. I thought my friend would like A Mighty Wind since she and her husband are folk music fans, but she didn't. I bought the darn soundtrack I liked it so much.

My fav war movie is A Bridge Too Far. My husband got to participate in the 60th Anniversary of Market Garden.

They library would only let me check out five (I've been going there since I was 5, don't I get any bonuses? heh), so I got:

Amelie,
Win a date with Tad Hamilton,
Chocolat,
Magnolia, and
Notebook (which I've seen, but want to see again).

But I'm keeping a list

Gangs of New York
This movie is almost my number one!
Gangs, Irish accents, New York accents, hard core fighting old school style with axes and clubs, lots of leo decapri and cameron diaz, lots of fighting, oh and lots of fighting. Its an all around great movie.

The Ice Harvest.
its a dark comedy.
