Nuh uh...might give me away!
My fiance and I have been keeping company with a stray kitty for the past two hours. I took some food out and it's obvious the poor thing was starving. I think it's a "she", and she's black, but skinny (I could see her hip bones).

We plan on putting food out for the next couple of days and then trapping her (she's VERY friendly...nearly jumped on my lap, lol). We would keep her, but I can't convince him to do so (he said something about my parents taking care of FIVE cats while we're on our honeymoon...).

So, if anyone is looking for a kitty and is in the area, please pm me. Or if anyone knows of a decent shelter in this area. I really want to see her "off the streets."

Any other advice??

I'm from Lafayette, too. I wish I could pitch in. I have 5 myself which is my absolute limit. I know that Northside will spay/neuter for a decent price but I hear they rarely take in anything but ferals . I wish I could help.

Thanks. I think North Central Spay and Neuter might take her in. That's where I got Oscar from, and they had older ones that definitely weren't feral.

I won't take her to the county humane society...they're on my blacklist as far as I'm concerned.

That's what I meant - North Central.

I hope they take her.

I think I may have found a home for her!! *crosses fingers* A girl I know from college thinks her boyfriend will take her, but he has to talk to his roommate first. I offered to take her to the vet and give her a bath prior to them taking her, to sweeten the deal. Btw, here are pictures of her!!

And here is why I think she has an extra pinkie toe on each front foot.

I'm so happy that she might have a forever home! I'm going to be sooo sad though, cuz she's a sweetheart. She's been on our patio all day today. The boys have started to ignore her now.

ETA: I went out to check the toe thing and I found out that they look like that because she's declawed!!! I want to cry!!

Just wondering...why is the county humane society on your blacklist?
