Okay, I had to post this,, but do you sometimes read all these post and look on petfinder, and find the perfect cat you want to rescue and you already have three at home, and know your husband won't let you have another...

I almost feel like I should do more, and have more furbabies!! I guess you have to ask when will I get to the point of i've got enough with three of them?? (Which I know this isn't true, I need another one)

I just know my husband won't let me have anymore!!! He already says were running our own cattery!!!!

I am no longer allowed in our local pet food store because they run an adoption centre there for the local shelter and my BF will not let me have another (even though 'he' got the four we have)

luckily, or maybe its unluckily, I don't have anyone to reign in my impulsiveness... oh wait a minute, even when I was with my ex I did whatever I wanted
even if that was bringing home 6 cats in 4 months
did I mention I have 10 cats now??

She is definitely gorgeous!!

I can't totally relate though as I have no SO at the moment, I pretty much do what I want. My 5.5 y/o DD would never disagree on getting another kitty. She loves them too!

Hmm. While I think I understand what you mean, I really don't like the phrase "my husband won't let me". I mean, discussing and compromising is one thing, but saying your significant other won't LET you... it may not be what's meant but having been through a very controlling abusive relationship I'm wary of that sort of phrasing.
On topic, my boyfriend doesn't ever want any more than 2 cats. However, I'm sure that once we have more space he'll be able to be persuaded. With our current space I don't want more than two either, but eventually I'd like at least 3, maybe as many as 5.

Colin has banned me from Hollywood Pet Star- he learned the hard way....I impulsively adopted a bunny one day (my sweet little Sophie
) ....lol, i think after that point he realized me and pet stores are not a good combination sometimes
especially if i hold the animal first...that's what happened with Sophie- i saw that prescious baby bunny and just had to hold her ( he didn't think anything of it lol....poor guy!)...well once i held her for an hour and walked around the store with her.....let's just say i never put her down- she came home with me much to Colin's shock! lol...i'm bad....now he watches me like a hawk in pet stores and i'm not allowed to hold any of the animals

As far as kitties go though- he knows that's a lost cause and I will win that one in a heart beat...lol....but i feel i'm at my limit right now with 4....so that i can keep fostering and have enough attention and time to go around with all of them. So he understands why i foster and really is great about it! He's even let me bring fosters into his house before on numerous occassions- he's soo sweet! I told him if we ever get married, I will most likely wind up adopting another kitty down the road because Abilene will stay with my mom, so we will see.

IA. If you need me, just meow..
I look all the time and honey knows that I'm a sucker for all cats! He and I fight all the time about how we need/don't need another one.
I think we need another one and he thinks we are fine the way we are right now. I just know that once I find that one, I will win him over, I just need to find that one, instead of trying to take in every cat in the world. (even though I'd LOVE to!) He's the one that keeps me grounded, I know realistically that we can't afford another one, and we really don't have the space for one right now, but as soon as we do, boy howdy will we!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am the exact same way too!!

I go into the pet stores and want every pet I lay my eyes on. We were watching mice one day and I almost bought some!! Bad news with two cats in the house ha ha!

I just stand there and think... "yes, he's very cute and needs a home... but if he were to get sick you couldn't afford another vet bill" and so I sadly walk off. I just can't get another cat knowing that if something terrible happened to him I couldn't afford to look after him.

That why when hubby agreed to let me have more cats (after already having two cats) I adopted three AT ONCE.

It is so much easier to adopt multiple cats at once. That way the shock and derision others get can be alleviated. You will only shock people once.

Sorry,, Wording not the best. He's fighting with me tooth and nail not to get another cat. He knows if I set my mind to it,, I'll win.. But he's putting up a huge huge battle over it!!! This time briebery isn't even working...

I tried sooo hard to talk him into it... But he won't budge,,, I'm in love with this girl!!! She's adorable and gorgeous. He says 4 is too many!! We live in a 4 bedroom house,, i don't see how 4 is too many... It's just one more.. I even said I'd take her as an early birthday gift. Granted my birthday isn't till November.

I just don't agree with him on this one, for some odd reason. I think it's because I get my mind set on a certain animal, and it's all I think about..
...

Oh husbands!!! They drive me nutz..

Every situation is different, I realize. That said, my son and I live in a 2 bedroom home (has about 1400 sq. ft) with 4 cats. It is just cozy.
Five would be too many for us, though I almost went there last weekend, ( trip to Petsmart when the adoption program was in session!)

Especially, I would agree (and what keeps me from going to 5) is the expense of keeping them properly vetted and fed, etc. As my main man Clint said, (paraphrased) "A [woman] has got to know [her] limitations."
