Just had a question. My cats, both Angel and Chestnut keep sneezing!!!

They keep sneezing like five or six sneezes in a row. It's not alot,, mostly at night sometimes, and in the morning. I don't know why they keep doing this. They've been on amoxicillian, and now it's done, but they keep sneezing.

Any thoughts on what to do???

Did they have URI's? I assume so since they are on meds. Are their noses or eyes runny green/yellow junk? If so then they might need more/stronger meds. If not, it might just go away on its own.

I aquired 2 kittens 6 weeks ago, they are now both 19 weeks old. One of them also sneezes a LOT, all throughout the day, sometimes having chain sneezes of 5-10 in a row. I mentioned it to the vet when i got them registered and he described it as "simply mechanical". He (the kitten) doesn't have runny eyes, but the mucous he's spraying everywhere is thick and yellow/green. The other kitten is absolutely fine, has maybe sneezed once or twice in the entire 6 weeks of having him.

I called the vet, and they said to try stronger medicine.. So I'm gonna pick up two bottles tonight.. $30 bucks later.. Uggghhh,, I wish they'd get better soon... The poor things,, I almost feel like cat insurance is a good idea!!

I'm starting to get leary becuase I've learned the less medicine the better. My little girl was on antibotics for her first three years of life, and in the last year,, I won't allow them to give her any antibotics unless she is really bad, and her immune system has really gotten alot better when sickness comes around!! I almost feel like if I give the cats more medicine it can't be good for them!! Sorry I'm rambling!!

It's expensive, but Transfer Factor is fabulous stuff. It's an immune system booster, for animals and humans.. totally natural and safe. Comes in a capsule and you can just mix it in their food, has no flavor so they cant even taste it. I believe it stopped my cat from vomiting (3 months he was vomiting with no other symptoms and no one could figure out why) and my parents CRF cat is on it, and another gals FIV+ cat is on it .. its worth a shot.

My Hannah was on meds for the 1st 6 weeks I had her, much to my husband's dismay! LOL One med she took during that time was Enisyl which is a prescription for L-Lysine. I now give her 500mg a day of this in tablet form which I purchase at Wal-Mart (much cheaper than buying it from the vet!). She starts sneezing when the weather changes and I up it to 1000mg a day. It really does help her a lot!

Mr. Hicks~If your cat is sneezing yellow and green mucous, s/he needs to go to the vet and be checked out for an URI asap.
