So much for the relaxing weekend!

Ugh - is all that can describe my 4 day weekend!

I got home Saturday afternoon - and my weekend was great, up until Sunday!

Sunday night, we were supposed to get our new contract for our permenant campground that we've been camping at for the past 6 years. It had new owners this year, and we were all afraid that the rates were going to go up, and if that happened - all of us that camp together, were going to pull our campers out and leave - (thats about 20 of us) so, we get the newsletter... they raised the rates up $1,000!! We were all thinking maybe it would go up $100-$200, that wouldn't be so bad, but $1,000!? Its absured. So... I am heading home this weekend again, to help my parents pull out our 40 foot camper - along with 20 other famlies My mom is devestated, she cried all day - its like family down there with all of our friends - and now this happens, we aren't sure what we are going to do, but we're going to sell the boat

So, we get thru that, and Monday comes along. I have my yearly DR. appointment. I think I'm going to be seeing my regular doctor - WRONG. Its some lady thats only there 3 days a week, thats there covering for my dr!! She had NO idea what she was doing - I was in so much pain, I was crying. I couldn't even belive it. A 5 minute appointment lasted and hour and a 1/2!

I get home after that to get my hair highlighted and cut - she gets 2 foils from being done with my hair, and tells me that I have LICE!! I was like omg are you kidding me!? So, she finished the 1 foil and she couldn't cut my hair or anything - I felt SO bad, but I didn't know I had it! So I had to drive back to town (15 minutes away) and get the damn lice shampoo - and it took care of it. It was a fresh case I guess and killed them right away. I'm going to do the shampoo again tonight, just to be sure. I had John wash all the sheets/blankets/pillows in the apartment last night before I got home, just to be sure and checked the cats - they were all clean, but I worry anyways.

Its been a horrible few days - and I just had to vent

awr you poor thing at least you had a good day Saturday, and you have your sweet furbabies who don't put prices up or are fairly bad doctors lol

Awwww, gee whiz, what a crappy weekend! I'm SO sorry to hear all that! I've had lice once when I was 12, but my daughter had them three times in as many months when she was 4-5 and in daycare. I know how it feels to have to clean EVERYTHING.

I wish I could say something to make you feel better!!! I'm here if you need me!

Kenz - you need to check everyplace your head has/might have been & clean it. lice are VERY contagious, & they actually prefer clean hair to dirty or product covered hair. so not just bedding - sofa backs, chair backs, hats, brushes, coat necks, etc. [i work in a public school.]

Oh yeah - everything has been cleaned - sprayed - everything!! We checked everyone who I was with - and we think my cousin got it from getting his haircut the other day - and spread it to me So he's been treated and so has his family, ect.

I've never had it before, and I hate it!! I'm glad I caught it right away so I could kill it! Ewwww

Awwww Kenz! What a terrible weekend! Tonight, go take a nice hot bath & then hang with your three hot biker dudes(John included)!

My mom is still pretty down about the camping thing, and so am I, we're still in shock that it went up so much. We are lucky tho - we have land, thru my dad's side of the famliy that they use for camping, so we'll be there, but it won't be the same at all.

Lets just hope that this week will be better than the weekend!

Did the new owners of the campground say why the $1000 is justified??? Is it a place that would have a waiting list??? Do they not realize the $$$ they will lose if 20 families pull out-greedy people!!!
Sorry to read about the head lice-yrs ago I was exposed to a little girl that had them but didn't touch her. Hope your hair color turned out ok though!!

Aww Kenz!! Lice is no fun, and the camping thing really bites! Hopefully you all find a better place very soon!! Cuddle with the kitties and feel better!!

The only reason is because they are greedy, money hungry people! Its horrible - they are going to lose SO much money - I think we are all going down at one weekend and pull our campers and everything out at the same time - that way they can see how much they are losing! I bet their pocketbooks will be hurting when they see 20+ families and campers pulling out of their campground!

They do have a waiting list - its got about 50 people/families waiting for lots - but thats when they thought the price was $1,000 less than it was before!

They sure are in for a rude awakening, thats for sure.

My hair color did turn out okay - it would have been better if it coulda sat longer - but, it looks better than it did before I went in

Well I hope you find a new campsite to enjoy!!

As for the lice, I can imagine you'd feel horrible but they are so common, you could have got them anywhere. Just proves you have clean hair

Yeah - I have clean hair - too bad this is the price I have to pay for it! Maybe I'll stop washing it for a few days I don't think I could do that to!

Sorry to hear your weekend was so bad. Everything happens for a reason though. Maybe something amazing will come through in regards to a camp site.

And as for the lice...that sucks. I had them as a kid, and all I have to say is at least you caught them early. When I got them I had hair to my butt and I had to sit while my mom and nanny picked them out for about 5 hours one afternoon. Talk about a broken neck!

ANYWAY-Wow..That sure is a crappy weekend. Sheesh..
And about the lice, wow..I would have been thinking she was joking. Were you at all embarrassed? Or just wierded out? Because I'm not sure how I would react in a situation like that one.

Yeah..The campground thing IS ridiculous! HOW in the world can they up the prices that much! That's INSANE! I'm sure they'll realize soon enough how dumb that was...
