Ok im the new guy so heres my intro question.

I got a orange tabby, hes about 3 months old. I have been normally feeding him the dry food. Every once in a while i give him a can food of friskies. the days that i give him the can he will not use the litter box and instead will do his business right outside of the box for some reason. not to mention it will stink badly and its like diarrhea. so anyways i just wanted to know if this is common for anyone else. i really dont want to stop feeding him the can food completely because i see it as a treat for him. but i might have too if he keeps it up.

Friskies isn't a very good quality food and could be the cause of the stinky poo. If you can gradually change over to a good quality wet food it would be better for your kitty. A wet food diet is healthier for them as cats generally do not drink enough water and the wet food helps hydrate them.

You will also find dry foods are often full of carbs and filler so on a good wet diet your cat will actually eat less and get better nutrition.
