I'm totally new to this and for on my lab forum food is a BIG topic! I got proplan kitten food. Is this a good food for kitten? I also got a couple cans of salmon as i know its good for the skin and fur (a least for dogs it is).

Thanks

Since Sammie is so young, you will probably need to get some KMR. You can get it at any pet store, or Wal-Mart. There is also a recipe here somewhere for kitten glop that is very healthy for him. Meat baby food without any garlic powder in it is also good kittens. I am not sure, but he may be a little young for salmon.
How is he doing today?

At 6 weeks a kitten shouldn't need kmr. That is, IF it is eating/drinking sufficiently on its own.

Six week olds are commonly just weaned and KMR 2 is designed for 4-8 week olds ...
