Vultures digging through your trash!

I was in my bedroom painting some trim and my boyfriend went outside to smoke. As soon as he gets out the door, he opens it again and screams "COME HERE NOW! YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!" So I go outside to see a vulture sitting on top of my garbage pail and his buddy flying off down the street with my garbage bag! I ran in to get my camera, but by the time I got out there they were attacking my neighbors garbage, so the pics are from a little far away.

Was not what I was expecting to see this morning!

How cute!
I adore vultures - and really admire the work they do (just drive down the desert on U.S. 395 & see what happened after the raven-eradication project - all those car-struck rabbits just lay there - I had to pull off the road to make a cell call, and turn off the car engine to eliminate background noise, so opened the car window
the STENCH--- oh, man---please, send some more ravens, soon! )

Oh yeah, they definitely are handy. With the number of roadkill raccoons and armadillos around here, I'm more than happy to have the vultures pitching in

They are cute... but in that "they're so ugly they're cute" kind of way

Since I have not had a pet mauled nearly to death by a vulture, I'll pick them, I have a long standing grudge against raccoons.

We have a little racoon out here ( she's impossible to trap- we tried to relocate her....
...We call her Chow Chow- she's a doll! Thankfull all of my animals are indoors only and my trash can has a lock. I think racoons are adorable- but I wouldn't want one near my furbabies because of the potential to harm them or give them something. So until we're successful at trapping her and relocating her- Chow Chow is loved by all around here lol.

I have a friend that got attacked by a vulture, or as we Southerners say, a buzzard, while riding doen the road on his Harley. He broke his wrist trying to fend it off, but managed not to wreck.
We still mess with him about that, and it was 10 years ago.

I second that lol. I need to snap a picture of Chow Chow our neighborhood raccoon sometime. She's a doll- and as sweet as she can be. (yet refuses to be trapped and relocated to a safer place
)I wonder how ticked off she'd get if i try to snap a picture of her???
