They have one of these trees where Jerry works, and he brought some home to me........can any of you guess what they're called?? Remember now all you funny people.........they're not Jerry's nuts......they're from his job!

Are they also known as hazelnuts??? I would have to have seeen the casing to make sure though!!

No, they're casings are veryyyyyyyyyy smooth.......they are our state nut I think...............Ohio is the Buckeye State and as far as I know, they're not edible...............

My parents always told me that Buckeyes were poisonous, but they are good luck (I guess not if you eat it, tho

They are horse chestnuts. I used to play with them as a kid... and now my cats like to play with them!!


Usually the outside casing is green with big spikes on it, but when you open them up, the nuts look all shiny.
