but, I just finished reading The Empty Chair by Jeffery Deaver (the bone collector, the coffin dancer) and it was AWESOME!!! I highly recommend it. I know a lot of people on here read, and I wanted to let you know that this book is well worth your time. It's now my favorite Jeffery Deaver book. It just came out in paperback.

AP, Is the empty chair a scary book? You mentioned the author also wrote the bone collector....is that the same one as the movie? I saw the movie, The Bone Collector...and it was scary, and I LOVED it!!! I love scary novels too!!!!

Jeffrey Deaver wrote the book the bone collector which then turned into the movie. that's actually how i got into him, from the movie. the book is 100x better than the movie. empty chair is thriller. i would put in in the scary catergory. i HIGHLY recommend empty chair. i love scary books also.

Thanks for the review - I LOVE Jeffrey Deaver - he is the best. The problem is that when I start reading him the book is usually history in one sitting since I get sucked in and can't put it down. So I don't read on the way home from work, I take a train, since I have missed my stop on more than one occation and have to pray that I can find someone to give me a ride back to my car.

i do the same thing! i read empty chair in 2 days, and it only took that long because i had to stop & go to work! of his stuff i've read, bone collector, a maidens grave, the coffin dancer, the devils teardrop and now this one. empty chair was in my opinion the best of them all. it had more meat to it i thought.

You know, I have tried to LOVE reading. Everytime I pick up a book I fall asleep. Hubby loves to read though. He is a big Steven King fan. I just bought the new book for him at a Target and it was only $19.95.

they have CHEAP books. i buy from them all the time. i have bought several james patterson hardbacks for like $8 including shipping & handling. you may have to wait a bit longer...because people are selling them after they read them but it is so worth it.

I have to giggle everytime I type your handle here. Being that you are a cat owner, I keep thinking the name is hairprincess! *G*

OK, I stayed up till 2:00 a.m. this morning finishing Dreamcatcher. It was really different from his usual works, in that there were a lot of references to his accident. As I read the Author's note at the end of the book, he wrote this one, entirely by hand, and said it helped to connect him back to the world and the English Language.

You can see a subtle change in his style early on. I will be interested to know what you think about it when you do get a copy.

Next is James Patterson Roses are Red, I need to take a break from this paperwork for NP. About page 571, the book hooked me big time, and I had to read till the final pages, until that page, I could put the book down in intervals.

that is so funny! I never thought of that before. the company i work for is called AIR (stands for active industry research) and we are all on IM (instant messaging), so we had to pick a handle. i chose airprincess, and now i use it for everything because it's just easier that way.

was dreamcatcher scary? like in a 'bag of bones' type of way? that's what it reminded me of when i read the back. 'bag of bones' meets 'it'.

were you shocked by roses are red? i didn't see the end coming and i was so surprised.
