I posted on here last week about a stray pregnant cat that I took in. Well, after continual straining, I took her in to the vet and she had to have a c-section. She had 6 kittens and only 1 had a heartbeat at first. After much work, all 6 are now alive.

Now for the problem..........mamma is not tending to her babies and they were born about 3 hours ago. She was vomiting from the anesthetic, so I don't know if she just doesn't feel well enough yet. Anyway.......is this common after a section??? Will she come around and tend to her babies? How long can the babies go without being fed?

I'm not sure about the answer to your question, perhaps you should call the vet's office. She probably needs more time to recover... that's a major surgery! Poor baby...

Congrats on the kittens! My Sneakers had 6, and boy oh boy... they are sure a handful (or two) when they get older. Be sure to post pics!
We love pics!

Barton..if mom is not taking care of these kittens...you will need to act as their surrogate. You need to go and get a hold of some KMR and a bottle and start feeding these little ones.

This website will give you good information regarding how much to feed and how frequently:
