The weekend before the 4th of July, some kids were shooting fireworks in the park behind my house while I was at work. My dog, Cabela was in her run, because it was a really pretty night. The fireworks freaked her out, and she was able to bend the gate enough to get out. I had up fliers, was searching, and had every shelter and law enforcement agency in 90 miles on the lookout. I finally got her home with some really good tips from some nice people 5 weeks later, skinny and filthy, but now home and safe and gaining weight.
ANYway! That same weekend was the 1 year Anniversary of Peanut Butterum and Sassy Saparilla coming home from the shelter. In all the hubbub, the lil' girls "gotcha" day was completely forgotten.
