October 16 is Feral Cat day. The animal group I belong to is planning a sort of petting zoo only involving stray/rescued cats and kittens. I am planning to bring my 5 kittens. What should I look out for in terms of their safety and comfort? I am also concerned that after a day of interaction, my kittens will smell different and won't be accepted by Joji, Skinny, QT or Wawa when I bring them back home.
Thank you.

I'd be more concerned about what 'bugs' they'd be trading back and forth, and which ones I'd bring home with them that they'd need to be on meds for a month afterward... I don't think those group bashes for animals (like St. Francis blessing ones) are good for anyone, and would also have a fear of losing my pets.

yeah i agree...i'd definately be worried one of our girls would be startled & run off...
none of the above seems worth the risk...i'm very protective of my girls & there have been a few people (especially children) who i've not liked being around them...especially if the children decide to subject them to torment!

putting any animal under the stress of being in a strange place with strange people, strange cats all with strange smells can't be a good thing...

well its a difficult one................cos you obviously want to be involved and it is a good way of raising awareness ! So good on you !

Maybe you have one or two kittens that are more sociable and can handle the trip out ? You may also decide that they only stay in their cat-box / cages. You will be there is watch whats going on and you will be able to answer questions and give advice to potential new cat owners !
Hope you come up with a solution that make you feel good and if all fails you can still go on your own armed with lots of photos
Good Luck
