Hello,
Yesterday I noticed my cat Garbo has taken to scratching herself more and when she does hair flys off from underneath her chin in small tufts. Otherwise she seems healthy and happy. I groom her daily and have noticed a few small bald spots (about the size of a pencil or pen tip) and there has been no change in her diet (which is Iams adult original). Is this exessive shedding like this natural when growing a winter coat, or should i take her to the vet?

i would check on the nutritional forums. i *think* that Iams changed there formula, but i am not totally sure. Usually first sign of somthing missing in there nutrition is shedding. i use Nutro Complete for my cats, and they are fine. I switched them over from iams for some of the same problems. Also, i added wet food to their diet, making it 75% wet food, and 25% dry. Seems to do the trick, their coats are fluffy and thick. Good Luck!!!

Thank you Lisa
I i'll try the 75/25 portions and see if that makes a difference with Garbo
