Hi Everyone.

Firstly I'll introduce myself.

My name is Melanie and I am a Siamese and Oriental breeder in Australia. My prefix is Rislani (I only just got it last Saturday - AND it was my first choice
)

I have 6 cats in total, but only two of those are my breeders. There are: Fabio - 10yo Siamese seal Point, Kaos - 4yo Main Coon X, Mayhem - 3yo Domestic short hair (tortoise shell), Mischief - 3yo White domestic short hair....then my breeding stock (so far!) Rex - 3yo Blue Point Siamese Stud, and Voodoo - 5 month old Black Oriental Queen. I have another Queen lined up - but she has yet to be concieved! LOL

I also have two alaskan malamutes who idolise all my cats - Slick (5 yo) & Qannik (2 yo).

Will post some piccies as soon as I can.

During my spare time, I also operate Siamese Rescue Australia....which has more recently branched out to include other similar breeds, such as the orientals. I've also had a couple of bengals listed through my site from australian breeders who also breed bengals as well as Siamese and orientals.

My little Voodoo was recently in her very first (must add - mine too!) show. she was sold to me as a breed quality, but not show quality cat so I am VERY pleased with the following results:

Both Ring 1 & 2:
1st oriental kittens under 4 months
Reserve kitten (2nd) Group 2
Judges Fancy.

Well, that's all I can think of right now...I look forward to getting to know you all

Mel.

Welcome to TCS Melanie!
Congratulations on your first show, that's excellent!

Your babies are very beautiful, but your boy, Rex, is really stunning!

G'day Melanie and family:

Nice to meet you all and thanks for adopting and loving "domestics"! Must confess I am not pro-breeding or -pedigree, but yes, you must be proud of your furbabies' beauty and success...I've lived with and loved cats all my life, and my cats have all been rescues, as are my current 9 (and 12 in sanctuary; long story involving divorce/forced impending relocation to an urban location with stupid quotas...). A long time ago, my mom was one of the first people in her area to have adopted a pedigreed Seal Point Siamese (whose illustrious lineage is still going strong) and people used to ask if he was a MONKEY when she walked him on his harness and leash...) Anyway, this is a great site/forum and glad to be among fellow cat lovers!
