I stopped by Super Target today and looked upon the current dolls.
::sighs:: I missed how dolls were back then. Baby Alive, Baby Giggle& Go, Tatoodles, Newborn Nancy.....Geez thoes were the days.
Now you have these oddly mature Bratz Babies and this whole competion between My Scence Barbies and Bratz dolls.
Though I have to admit the big googly eyes of brats is cute, the point is,
I just miss thoes dolls of the past.

The Bratz dolls creep me out. And they creep out my 5 year old niece, too, so I don't feel too bad...IMO, they belong alongside clowns and mimes. My niece's private school doesn't allow them because they ARE maturely-themed. I prefer dolls that look real; the same goes for animal figurines. Even children's books have those cartoonish drawings - what happened to appreciating the real thing

Those scare the crap out of me. I like the "good old fashioned" toys of the early 90's.. haha, I played with TMNT and Lego! Now kids have those motorized little ATV things, and all I had when I was little was a tricycle..

I hate the Bratz dolls, they look like little hookers to me. I am so glad my granddaughter does not like them, and even if she did my daughter has better sense than to allow her to have them. I am so glad she is a good mommy!

Same here - not for MY granddaughters!

The twins like cars, trucks and "tools". They have a few basic "baby" dolls but would rather dig in the dirt and ride their tricycles. I've also bought them a lot of stuffed animals.

We didn't have alot of toys when I was little, but we had just regular baby dolls. My sister and cousin and I used to play with this baby doll we named bald headed baby. And my aunt still has it. And we had the old fashioned barbie dolls and my little ponies. And the care bears and starbright. And I remember how excited we was when dad got us a bike. And now all the toys are just nonsense.

and I forgot to add in what happened to the cartoons. I used to watch Scooby Doo, Where are You? and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and G.I.Joe

MY favoirte toys as a lid were Rainbow Bright, My Little poney, Lego, and She-Ra. Along with Barbie of course. Some of the toys today, like you say Bratz dolls are so creepy looking. I saw the "new" he-man action figures and they looked like cave men. Is there no thought to design in these things?

I always loved baby dolls they are few and far between now. My niece loves the American Girl Dolls she has 3 of the big ones and she has the Bitty Baby that is so CUTE. I wish they had them when I was a kid.

I loved Newborn Baby Tenderlove, Baby Alive and Baby Chrissy(with the long hair) Anyone have the Drowsy Doll...I still have her!!

I hate the Bratz dolls and will never let my children have any of them. They embody the movement in society where little girls grow up too fast, but lack the necessary tools to be responsible adults.

My daughter had the coolest baby doll, Baby Annabell (her name is Annabelle too). It look real and comes with a bottle, pacifier, rattle. She is battery operated and when you put the bottle in her mouth, her lower jaw looks like its suckling. She also cries, giggles, falls asleep based on how you are treating her. I wish they had dolls like that when I was little.
