So Cheeto is all grown up, but I've come to wonder if he might have been infected with toxoplasmosis as a kitten..........would he still have it now? or is it something that goes away??
He came into my home when he was about 4 weeks old or so, he hasnt been out hunting since then.
Iknow I can easily take him to the vet and test him, but I wont be able to for a week or so cuz of car problems.

Just wanted to know if anyof you knew anything about it.

TIA!!

At 4 weeks old they are not hunting yet so I wouldn't worry about that. The only real way to contract at that point is if mom had it. Signs of toxo are seizures (and others but don't know them) but can go undetected for a while.

Toxo is not that common in cats, yet they can carry it. If it were me I wouldn't worry unless I saw abnormal behavior/illness.

I don't believe it goes away on its own. At this point I think you would have seen symptoms.

If you test for it, it's most likely going to come back positive anyway. A large percentage of cats have been exposed and carry toxoplasmosis without developing an infection because of it.
