We were playing with one of the cats,Giles. We notcied a hard lump the size of a dime on his side , kind of behind the armpit.

He hasnt had any shots latley, isnt acting differnt, and is eating a drinking normally, however my boyfriend says he has lost weight, but I dont see that. He looks normal to me, but it is his cat so I guess he would know.

We made an appt. for tomorow, tried getting in today but everyone is booked, in the mean time Im wondering if anyone knows what this might be?

It isnt a wound, he is an indoor cat, its a lump under the skin and as i said before its hard. It doesnt seem to bother him when i was touching it. You can also see the lump as well as feel it.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Oh, also wanted to add he is a 3 year old neutered male Ocicat, with no previous health problems.

It's possible it's just a harmless cyst, but I would still suggest getting it looked at by the vet.

If it's "encapsulated" IE: Round and smooth, it's probably just a sebaceous cyst. I had a cat that had one the size of a pea on the inside of her hind leg. They aren't cancerous.

If you are concerned though, better to get kitty checked out.
