Still keeping my eye on it though!
It is losing strength because it is passing over the mountains in Haiti... Unfortunately, the National Hurricane Center is still predicting intensification once it clears land.

Looks like South Florida is now in the cone! BTW I think it's going to make landfall in Ft. Myers.

It's headed straight up my arse.

I spent all morning getting ready-lines for gas, lines for groceries, lines for lines. We have shutters and a generator, so will survive- plus if we lose power we grill every meal so usually eat way better than normal.

It's just the whole PIA of moving everything inside. I have tons of outdoor furniture, 200+ orchids and other potted plants (some of them in huge concrete pots), etc. that have to all be moved indoors.

This will be our first storm since getting the kitties, and with each plant you bring in there's at least one lizard or frog. Should be a boomin' good time.

I went this morning to go get gas, I waited for 35 minutes. My sister is at Costco and she's been waiting for almost two hours. Some gas stations are running out of gas. I'm looking at the news, and the lines are long!

Hi there fellow hurricane sufferers

Looks like the current track has it visiting me sometime early wednesday. Oy.

On the up side, at least I'm in a CB house now. I rode out Frances and Jeanne in a frame and stucco apartment. So not doing that again!
I swore my dining room was going to fly off! But hey, I had only been in FL about 2 months when they hit. I didn't know any better

I didn't see any crazy gas lines when I was out this morning, but that was before the 11am briefing from the weather center... so there might be now. Gotta remind myself to pick up more water later.

Hope everyone fares well!

The Gov.was just on tv telling us to be prepared to hunkerdown. I hate that word. Surf is picking up out at the beach. Got all important stuff, water, batteries, gas, pet food. We have been thru Charlie,Frances,Jeane & Wilma so I know what to do and have done it early. Stores around here not to crazy, but starting to see some lines at gas stations. SO is working down in Stuart and he said people down there are going crazy. He is sending all his guys home middaytomorrow andis worried about them being able to find fuel to get out of town.

I'm keeping everyone in my prayers!!! I'm really worried about everyone and your little furbabies. I hope the intensity of the hurricane will die down before it hits. I'm soo sorry ya'll are going through this...it stinks to have things happen like that with little time to prepare. I hope everyone has evacuation plans ready if need be and all of your personal papers and things in order. Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers!!! Please stay safe!

Looks like it's headed for Miami... Which is where our home campus is... ( I work for a university).. We got the message yesterday that Miami Shores Campus was closing tomorrow for students only... Then later we heard closing for students AND staff in Miami... THEN students in Pinellas park were out also... THEN all students AND staff are closed for both campus'... So I'm off tomorrow... PAID... but I am worried sick for all my students in miami.. Alot of them are from out of state and they haven't been through this before..I'm almost positive we'll be off Wed too... Please keep all the students in your prayers.

Here's the new track for Tropical Storm Ernesto! Looks like it's going to be a strong tropical storm by the time it makes landfall in Miami!

It's here! The storm is going to make landfall tonight! We are under a Hurricane watch, Tropical Storm warning, flood watch and a tornado warning!
I hope I don't lose my power!
