Hello All!

I am a young woman, that lives with her boyfriend.
I was wondering what are easy yummy things I can cook. I know how to make fried chicken, baked chikcen, and we eat lots of hamburger helper. It's cheap good and easy
Things that come out of boxes, mac n chees, rice a roni(san francisco treat
) top ramen.

I am interested in different ways to cook steak, chicken and fish. So any receipes are always welcome.

Also I posted this in another thread, but never got an answer. How do I make cookies that are thick chewy and soft? Every we make cookies they tend to be flat and stick to the pan. Sometimes chewey. Chocolate chips and sugar are the only ones we have made.

Any help is always welcomed!

If you like easy out of the box recipes, this one that my sister-in-law gave me makes some of the yummiest and chewiest cookies I've ever eaten.

1 box yellow cake mix
2 eggs, beaten
1 stick margarine, melted

Mix together and add 6-12 oz. package of chocolate chips (more or less depending on personal taste). Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.

Keep in mind that my sister-in-law is one of those Betty Crocker-ish people that like to make things from scratch, especially cookies, but she most often has people request for her to make these cookies. However, these cookies are rarely very thick, which I know you wanted.

For other recipes, check out the thread where people are turning in recipe submissions for the TCS Fundraiser / cook book.

I am not an expert my self, but I have learnt alot in the past two years, especially by cooking meat because my ex bf is a carnivore and I always had to serve meat in every meal.
Now im moving out into my own little place and will have to cook for my self again, since mummy isn't going to be around anymore

For meat especially steaks you should always heat up your frying pan, add the oil into the pan after a minute, you will see if the pan is hot because it moves around funny, then its ready to add the steaks in, depending on how you like your meat and the size of the meat, they shouldnt really be cooked for more than 10 minutes each side.

You can marinade these steaks, over night, or for a few hours in the fridge.

For chicken there are so many ways to do them as, i will give you the best tips i can for the moment, if you want to know more just PM me.

Chicken Schnitzle (pan fried)

Chicken skewers (marinaded in salad dressing) can be grilled in the oven, bbq, or just pan fried but it has different methods.

Garlic Chicken (pan fried)

Chicken parmigiana (this is cooked in the oven)

I am quite hopeless with fish, unless youre telling me to cook fish fingers!!

If you want really chewy cookies, they shouldnt be baked in the oven, they should be refridgerated.
or you would need to add alot of honey into the dough.

I am sure others have really good advice!

Maybe its because I'm a...
I'm terrible at cooking but even I can manage to passably replicate this awesome meal my mom cooks.
Its just big pasta shells, lots of bacon/chicken, olives and spinach, with a drizzling of olive oil. The best thing about this is that it keeps for a few days, and is perfect for a picnic on a hot summers day

The thing that I love that my boyfriend makes is homemade chicken cordon bleu. You buy boneless chicken breasts, pound them out flat and put a piece of ham and swiss cheese on it. Then roll it up and put toothpicks in to hold it together (just make sure you remove them before you eat it). Roll in bread crumbs and bake in the oven.

Theres another chicken recipe that I really like. It's from the tv show 30 minute meals. It's sooo good but I didn't put the tomato stuff on top of the chicken because I don't like tomato and I used regular potatoes because I couldn't find the kind she used. This is the link to it http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/reci..._25022,00.html

There was a episode on Good Eats which described how to change the recipe for cookies to get different results.

The Puffy
The Chewy
The Thin

I have problems with baking just because of our altitude.
