Does that say $14K??? For a HOUSE?! The pic I saw was a little unclear on some of the letters and numbers so I could just be reading it wrong.

I also wonder what the inside looks like, and the "yard" is a little sparse. But hey, for all the money you'd save you could remodel the inside, chisel up the concrete in the front and plant all kinds flowers.

Cute house.

The annual R.E. taxes on this house are about $400 . The asking price is $14,900. What I am still amazed at is this is not the only one. There are others like it in the area.

Maybe its a really bad neighborhood. Either crime wise, or just the type of people that live there.

Repos are often really cheap, especially if the house is in bad shape. They just want to get rid of it. For all we know there could be termites, structural damage, bad plumbing, the roof needs to be replaced, etc...

I'm sure the people are super friendly and the air is clean. No crime. The problem is it's isolated. There is a dozen or so streets in the entire town. Use mapquest to locate Fort Kent and you will see what I mean. Check out real estate in Aroostic county Maine and you'll find hundreds of these proprtys. I say it's a great place to retire on a low budget. Bring your cats!
