I dont know if anyone has encountered this before. My cat gave birth to 4 healthy little kittens 2 and a half weeks ago,she is a good mother to them and seems to love them very much, but in the last week she has started to bite her kittens in what seems to be an aggressive manner. It usually starts when she reaches for them with her paws to lick them, then she starts holding em and giving them long bites, not only behind their neck but in the front and on their belly. It sorts of look like what a cat do with a toy. What worries me is that the kittens are yelling really loudly when she does it,as if she was hurting them.I havent seen any wounds on the kittens and i dont think shes trying to kill them but could all that rough handling traumatize them?Im pretty sure this is her first litter,we adopted her 4 months ago,she was a stray.
thanks!
